The Chief Sandrell Rivers Arts & Education Scholarship
South Florida was truly blessed to have a brilliant, feisty, witty, passion and dedicated angel walk among us and reside in our community. The Late Chief Sandrell Rivers’ dedication to community, arts and culture were second to none. She was a superior leader and champion for education as well. It is for this reason, Diaspora Arts Coalition, the organization she co-founded 13 years ago, has established the Chief Sandrell Rivers Arts & Education scholarship to honor her memory and continue her legacy… The Chief Sandrell Rivers Arts & Education Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student or students seeking to further their education in the areas of arts, business and/or public administration. The award will target graduating senior(s) from Miami Northwestern Senior High School and a first year freshman at Tennessee State University. Both schools were where Chief Rivers gained value knowledge and training. They were both near and dear to her heart. Help us continue Chief’s community work!
